This project focused on crafting a bold, modern logo that would stand out in the urban food scene, capture attention instantly, and reflect the brand’s energetic and slightly rebellious spirit.
The goals
In a fast-paced street food environment, a logo needs to be eye-catching, memorable, and instantly communicative. For Flaming Billy, the brief was clear:
* Create a mascot-based logo that feels unique and playful.
* Use a bold, minimalist design approach that reads well at all sizes.
* Design a color palette that feels spicy, modern, and fun.
* ​​​​​​​Appeal to a diverse, food-loving, city-based audience who appreciate both great branding and great food.
The concept
The brand name Flaming Billy inspired a mischievous, fire-loving personality, bold, a little unhinged, but totally lovable. The idea was to turn this character into a quirky mascot that represents the spirit of the brand: hot and full of flavor.
From that idea, a custom mascot was born, a stylized flame character. Paired with confident typography and a high-contrast palette, the logo reflects a brand that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but does take flavor seriously.
The outcome
The final logo for Flaming Billy is fun, fearless, and instantly iconic. It captures the fast-paced vibe of street food culture with a distinctive personality that people can connect with and remember.
Whether on a food truck, sauce packet, or Instagram post, the branding cuts through the noise with a look that’s as bold as the flavors behind it.
